Zoeller Pump Co. Recalls Sump Pumps
On February 14, 2007, Zoeller Pump Co., of Louisville, KY recalled about 2,300 unites of Zoeller brand septic pumps with a 20-foot black cord with a plug for possible shock hazard. The plug on the sump pumps could have a grounding problem that could pose an electrical shock hazard.
Electric Shock Caused by Malfunctioning Float Switch
From Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory An LLNL employee received a mild electric shock when the employee placed a hand into water flowing from a laboratory faucet. The employee was not injured.
Sta-Rite Recalls Sump Pump Battery Chargers
In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Sta-Rite Industries Inc., of Delavan, Wis., is voluntarily recalling about 29,000 battery chargers used in battery back-up sump pump systems. The battery chargers can overheat and ignite, melting the charger housing and posing a fire hazard.
Sump Pumps Pose Shock Hazard
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced that certain upright, pedestal sump pumps having solid black plastic float switches positioned on top of the pump motor may present an electric shock hazard.
